Specialties: For the last 50 years the Holzworth Family has been farming outside of Palmerston. Barb and Bill have built a reputation throughout the community based around quality, kindness and integrity. What started out 30 years ago as a few rows of sweet corn to sell during the summer has turned into a summer ritual for our family and our community. We now plant over 6 acres and supply sweet corn to the Palmerston, Harriston and Drayton local grocery stores as well as selling off the farm. During this time we realized there was a demand for more then just sweet corn. We started selling fresh seasonal vegetables straight out of our garden. This includes potatoes, tomatoes, beets, squash, pumpkins, and beans. Over the last 10 years their son Michael has been keeping honeybees so they have been able to add honey to the farm stand.
During the past 25 years, Bill has been crafting a quality Red Angus/Simmental beef herd, based on top genetics and tender love and care. The herd has now reached 40 cows that can be seen leisurely grazing with their calves all summer long. Calves are born and raised on the farm in a stress free environment and without the use of growth hormones. They are finished on a corn ration that contributes to excellent marbling and tenderness. The family uses the services of a local abattoir and sells it as pre-ordered freezer beef.
The Holzworth Family welcomes you to enjoy the food they produce for their community.
